  A health indicator is a numeric measure of the public health status of a population.
  
  Indicator reports are brief reports, similar to a fact sheet or data brief, that provide graphs, maps, data tables, and explanatory information for a specific public health issue, such as why it's important, what the current status is, and what is being done to improve it. Why Is This Important?

Average age at death is a measure of longevity.

Definition

The arithmetic mean age, in years, at which a group of persons died Average age at death does not take into account the average age of the corresponding population. This can bias results in demographic groups whose age composition varies greatly from that of the overall population.

Numerator:
The sum of ages at death among decedents in a given time period
Denominator:
Total number of decedents in that time period
