Definition

Infant mortality is the death of an infant before his or her first birthday. The infant mortality rate is the number of infant deaths for every 1,000 live births.

Data Notes

This is Healthy New Jersey 2020 (HNJ2020) Objective MCH-1. Data for White, Black, and Asian do not include Hispanics. Hispanic ethnicity includes persons of any race.
