Why Is This Important?
Kidney failure treated with dialysis or a kidney transplant is called end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Diabetes and high blood pressure are the main causes of ESRD.1

Data for White, Black, and Asian do not include Hispanics. Hispanic ethnicity includes persons of any race.
