Why Is This Important?

Kidney failure treated with dialysis or a kidney transplant is called end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Diabetes and high blood pressure are the main causes of ESRD.[https://www.cdc.gov/kidney-disease/risk-factors/index.html ^1^]

New cases of end-stage renal disease per 100,000 population. (See graph-specific Data Notes.)

Data Notes

This is Healthy New Jersey 2020 (HNJ2020) Objective CKD-3. Definition: New cases of diabetes-related ESRD per 100,000 adult population aged 18 years and older. Data for White, Black, and Asian do not include Hispanics. Hispanic ethnicity includes persons of any race.
