Eligible Metropolitan Areas (EMAs), Transitional Grant Areas (TGAs), and Part B Regions

EMAs, TGAs, and Part B Regions are used with HIV data.

Part A of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009 provides assistance to Eligible Metropolitan Areas (EMAs) and Transitional Grant Areas (TGAs) that are most severely impacted by the HIV epidemic. EMAs and TGAs are based on the U.S. Census designation of Metropolitan Statistical Areas and may span more than one state.
Part B of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009 provides grants to States and Territories to improve the quality, availability, and organization of HIV health care and support services. Part B regions receive Ryan White B funding to support counties with lower case reports and fund core medical services and support services such as the statewide AIDS Drug Distribution Program (ADAP).
